Turn up the Heat June Fundraiser for Steve Riddell

Steve Riddell is a longtime resident embarrassed by HD 92’s lack of representation in Austin and his state rep’s recent jaw-dropping antics.

Tarrant County’s Worst of the Worst lawmaker Jonathan Stickland opened his mouth and his wallet in several local May races to attack non-partisan candidates for their religion or past partisan vote history. He lost thousands of dollars and lost credibility when voters ignored his “sky is falling” rants by electing qualified candidates.

Stickland, known for his rape “jokes” and ineffective lawmaking nearly cost HD 92 $900K in highway maintenance funds as retribution from other lawmakers for one of his many tantrums.

Help send Stickland back to his pest control business.

Ticket includes fajita buffet dinner. Cash bar available. Get your tickets or become a sponsor today!

Let’s Celebrate—MCD May Mixer!

By now you’ve likely heard the good news! Candidates we supported, and who were mercilessly attacked by State Representative Jonathan Stickland and his Empower Texans dark money, won their local elections. Dan Cogan won in Bedford, Salman Bhojani won in Euless, and Cindy Shepard in Hurst is headed for a June runoff.

Sexist, racist, homophobic, Islamophobic Stickland is so sure of his November win against our friend Steve Riddell, that he spent thousands in HEB and GCISD races, encouraging his followers to fear and hate qualified candidates because they have voted in a Democratic primary or have a different faith, but it didn’t work!

In lieu of a regular May meeting, please join council member-elect Salman Bhojani, council member-elect Dan Cogan, council candidate Cindy Shepard, and The Mid-Cities Democrats for our May Mixer to celebrate their wins and mix with new and old like-minded friends. A chicken and beef taco dinner, sides, drinks, and desserts will be served, and adult beverages available. Suggested donation to defray some costs and put money in the bank for the November general election: $15. Making your donation early helps us with an accurate guest and food count. Thanks!

Steve Riddell is taking on Tarrant County’s worst of the worst in State Representative Jonathan Stickland, known for his rape “jokes,” ineffective lawmaking, blocking any constituent who disagrees with him, and now, attacking Euless City Council candidate Salman Bhojani for his Muslim faith. [Dallas ObserverStar-Telegram]

If you don’t know Salman, he worked at a convenience store, became a small business owner, became an attorney, serves on the Euless Parks Board, and helps lead his son’s Boy Scout troop. Really scary stuff, huh? We don’t need Trump-Republicans promoting intolerance and fear in our communities!

Stickland is so flush with dark money that he’s doled out several thousand in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD races, too.

Support Salman online, vote for him if you’re a Euless resident, and help us send Stickland back to his pest control business by donating $10/25/50 to Steve Riddell for Texas House District 92 today.

Haven’t voted?

Polls are open Saturday from 7am-7pm for local municipal and ISD elections. Find your polling place here. It’s imperative that Democrats vote for qualified, rational candidates, and your MCD executive board recommends you vote for:

Bedford – Dan Cogan for City Council
Euless – Salman Bhojani for City Council
Hurst – Jeffrey Barnes, Jeff Childers, and Cindy Shepard for City Council

See you at the polls!

April 2018 Meeting with Beverly Powell for State Senate

Can you see victory in November? We can! This month, we’re spotlighting two *VERY* competitive, winnable races — SD 10 and HD 92.

Our April guest is Beverly Powell, former Burleson ISD trustee and Democratic nominee for State Senate, District 10.

She’s taking on anti-education, anti-local control, and anti-economic development Konni Burton, who works for “Empower Texans” and a fundamentalist billionaire living far away from Tarrant County.

We’ll also get a campaign update from Steve Riddell for Texas House District 92. If you’re on Twitter, you’ve been enjoying Steve’s ongoing exchange with extremist anti-intellectual Stickland. Follow Steve online here.

See you on April 26, and bring a friend!
