February 2018 Meeting with Miguel Suazo for TX Land Commissioner

Feb2018Meeting.001

Come meet Miguel Suazo for Texas Land Commissioner, running to beat George P. Bush.

The Dallas Morning News recommends voters back Miguel Suazo’s candidacy in the Democratic primary: “Most every notch on his resume corresponds with the experience necessary to run the Texas General Land Office.”

Suazo says he’s the Democrat running to beat George P. Bush.

Commissioner George P. Bush has failed to proactively protect Houston from storms like Hurricane Harvey, failed to protect Texas’s most prized historical site, the Alamo, and failed to stand-up for teachers across the state of Texas by generating the revenue they need to support Texas’s schools.

January 2018 Meeting with Román McAllen for TXRRC

January2018Meeting.001

Join fellow Mid-Cities Democrats at our first meeting of 2018!

Our guest speaker is Román McAllen, running for the Texas Railroad Commission, which oversees the oil and gas industry, pipeline safety, and not railroads.

Texans needs a public advocate to enforce existing environmental and public safety protections. Big business has three friends on the three-person commission. Regular Texans have none.

“Having a regulatory agency that is bought and paid for by the industry that it’s supposed to regulate is as costly as it is pointless,” – Texans for Public Justice Director Craig McDonald.

Let’s reform the TXRRC, starting in 2018.
