When the leadership of the Texas Legislature focuses on pandering to a fringe base, vulnerable Texans are left behind. Texas taxpayers have already contributed to Medicaid expansion in other states through our federal taxes. Refusing $6B annually costs a lot — that’s $222 each year from every Texan.
The recent 15-month Medicaid waiver isn’t enough. It’s time for Texas to have its turn with full, expanded Medicaid. Otherwise, we pay twice.
